Description

Full course description

Employers have a responsibility to protect the health, safety and welfare of every employee. Additional care may be required when employing young people because they may have less workplace experience and may not always recognise potential hazards.

Young People in the Workplace Training helps employers, managers and supervisors understand how to support young workers safely and appropriately. This includes full-time and temporary employees, apprentices and people completing work experience.

The course explains who is considered a young worker, the additional legal responsibilities placed on employers and how suitable training and supervision can reduce workplace risks. Learners will also discover how to complete a risk assessment that properly considers the specific needs and vulnerabilities of young people.
