Asbestos Awareness Training

Athena Digital Academy’s Asbestos Awareness Training helps workers recognise where asbestos-containing materials may be present and understand how to avoid disturbing them. It is relevant to people whose work could expose them to asbestos, including those carrying out building maintenance or refurbishment.

What you will learn

• What asbestos is, where it has been used and why exposure is dangerous.
• The health risks associated with asbestos fibres.
• The purpose of asbestos management information.
• What to do if suspected asbestos is discovered or accidentally disturbed.

Awareness training has limits

This course does not train or authorise you to work on, remove or disturb asbestos. Work involving asbestos requires the appropriate additional training and controls. Follow your workplace procedures and seek competent advice before any activity that could disturb suspected materials.
